Farm for Sale in Wellington Rural

This immaculately maintained 10,2ha boutique wine estate situated in the foothills of the Hawequa mountain range offers an enviable rural lifestyle as well as good business opportunity. Located just minutes from Wellington town centre with good access off a tarred road, Alkmaar Winery has been modernised and sympathetically developed, maintaining the historical stature of the farm as well as its original charm. The main homestead, extensively renovated to allow for a more modern and contemporary lifestyle, has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, open plan sitting room, dining room and kitchen, scullery and pantry, study and recreation lounge. A covered patio overlooking a private entertainment and pool area is perfect for alfresco dining. Adjacent to the home is a separate office building. The 360-degree views from the homestead are inspirational. The farm is currently planted to approximately 5ha of wine grape cultivars which are vinified on site in a purpose-built cellar. The wine cellar, which has a capacity of approximately 40 tonnes, is fully furnished with modern equipment, allowing for the production of quality wines. Adjacent to the production cellar is a barrel maturation cellar as well as a separate bottle maturation cellar – all temperature controlled. Customers are entertained in a well-appointed tasting room complex which includes a small service kitchen. Irrigation and potable water are supplied by 3 boreholes on the farm as well as a small earthen dam that fills from winter run-off. All the vines are under drip irrigation and on trellis. This operational wine estate is offered for sale as a going concern, inclusive of all the farm and cellar equipment.
